Cowgate hostel.

I was early for a meeting today in the Cowgate. I sat in the 3 sisters beer garden (sans beer) and observed this. I suspect it used to have a rather grander function, probably something to do with the Faculty of Advocates who seem to own the bits of the Old Town that Edinburgh Uni doesn't. I've not done too much hostelling in my time. I was put off once by one in Chicago which, to make ends meet, doubled up as a drop in centre for junkies and the wandering dispossessed of Illinois. I'd have felt safer in Barlinnie. And I'll bet the Bar-L has cleaner showers.

This looks like a very Edinburgh type of hostel.
