Arlin

Arlin is from Ireland but lived since 14 years in the Netherlands. He has had several jobs here but now he’s unemployed since one month. He wants to emigrate to Australia and go seek work over there. Australia was built by British prisoners in the 18th century and so there are his roots. Between 1788 and 1868 were 160,000 British criminals forced a single trip to the distant continent because the English prisons where overcrowded. A major cause was the lost War of Independence against the Americans (1776-1783). The reason to depart from the Netherlands is because it’s harder to acquire a better function as a foreigner within the same company. Arlin calls it the graveyard of ambition…
