Psychedelic spinning wheel

This oddly decorated old mechanism stands at the entrance to India Mill business enterprise offices in Darwen. Part of the old textile history of the town, there are other such large pieces along the road as you approach the old mill, which is pretty huge for such a small town, but not unusual in these old Lancashire cotton industry towns. I like the preservation of the old working pieces, which are dated and stamped with the steel factories they appear to have been made in in Manchester...one northern industry feeding another...but I'm not sure about the colour schemes ( I have upped the vibrance a bit tho) as they are pretty incongruous with the rather deprived area and so seem garish and ugly as opposed to Modern Tate! I was just driving over the tops from Barrowford, to Burnley, to Blackburn, to Bolton rather than go all Motorways to work and so drive past them and then through stark moorland between towns. The rest of the day was very wet and dreary so these stood out even more than normal so stopped to blip them.
