Getting Air
Today: freestyle session. After too much faffing from certain people, we made it to Meribel valley. We passed through a ski park, and I set up with my camera to catch everybody attempting to hit the box and hit some jumps. Lots of funny footage, some great shots. I didn't attempt anything unfortunately, not wanting to risk messing my neck up. Then we went to an airbag at the bottom of the valley, onto which you can land from a big jump. Everyone had a go at it, which resulted in some good photos and a couple amazing tricks (shoutout to Alex, and to Kris for his backflip). This is a shot from that. Then we had lunch next to the airbag, before heading off to the shlopes of Courchevel. We were a really good group as usual, this time our room minus Joe plus Amit and Eloise.
On the way back, we hit apres-ski at Folie Douce, the 'other apres bar' we had somehow not made it to yet. The place was alive, with performers on a balcony making the crowd go wild. Lots of fun and the setting sun made it all the nicer. Feeling like dinner, we headed back and started pre-drinks once more. All week, with the exception of one day, we at E10 hosted pre-drinks. Needless to say we have no idea what other peoples' rooms look like, but we didn't have any trouble getting people over. Tonight we took it easy and only had a couple of the girls over. Saliva Demon was born, as was Caffeine Fiend. And we held our end of trip Faf awards, inspired by the sheer amount of faffing Jay had done today. Ali got 'Biggest f***-up on a night out', Joe got something I don't quite recall but was deserved and Jay of course got 'Faffer of the week'. Luckily, we were out before there was time to offer an award for the 'Biggest stack on the shlopes'.
We went to Snow Cafe, the massively underrated but awesome joint we'd hit the day before. Snow was bumping on a big level. In fact it was too hot, so I came out halfway and ended up hanging out with the rowing girls and then Hannah and her clique for a while. Never one to pass up the opportunity, I got my usual cheese and bacon burger from the kebab place uptown. Think I had four of those the whole week, they were SO GOOD. Then I quickly passed by Malaysia to see what was going on, before agreeing with the others that Summit was the club to be at. It ended up being the most mental night of dancing. We didn't make it to bed until about 5am, that's how good it was. Basically, we couldn't leave because the tunes were too good, and it was only when they played something akin to Mr. Brightside that we gave in to our exhaustion and headed back. Also, Hannah was bullying drunk people, I started a confrontation, Eloise made somebody cry, let's just say it was a rowdy night as well! Absolute winning squadron.
