Aargghhhhhhh!

I promise I have not cropped or rotated this photo - this is exactly how I captured one of my students doing the 'swing' today in the climbing wall!

This afternoon Olivia had her Winter party and I was able to help out - there were yet more gingerbread biscuits (I'm a little fed up of making them now!). The classes rotated through lots of festive activities and she had a lot of fun especially the one where they had to throw 'snowballs' (wet cotton wool) at the snowman on the board whilst wearing a blindfold and being spun around - such a simple idea but so much fun...and yes I couldn't resist and had to have a go!

We also received Olivia's school report and to summarise she is a bright little girl who is way ahead with her reading, writing and oral language (they have even started her on the work being done in the next grade), but her behaviour is not great in terms of her ability to focus and not be distracted or distract others. To be honest we've had some concerns for the last few months but we're not sure how much of it is being six as she naturally has a very enthusiastic and lively personality. Her teachers don't seem concerned and have developed some strategies to keep her focused in class and let others speak, for example in PE her teacher, who is Belgian, makes her speak in French rather than English as this means it takes her longer to think about what she is going to say and makes her listen more. Olivia, is of course oblivious to all of this as she just adores going to school and doesn't seem to mind or know when she is being told off! I hope it stays that way!

Nevertheless we are very proud of her and just pleased that she enjoys going to school, unlike her little brother!
