Beans

By far the best way of cooking dried beans - no soaking and you don't even have to be at home. These borlotti/pinto (or indeed rose coco/crab eye as they were called on the packet) are beautifully patterned when raw, but turn a slightly less exciting sort of reddish-brown when cooked.
