Walls

Wandering around York walls as the sun sank slowly in the west was a curiously tranquil experience… watching the city home and buzz towards the end of another December day below me... I was in the city buythe Ouse to see the second Hobbit film. I liked it but 2 1/2 hours is pushing it a little on the length front. Parts of your anatomy start to go numb somewhere around the two hour mark.... I'd like to ask the directors of the world (and especially Peter Jackson): what happened to the cinema intermissions of my youth?? Cornetto and Kia Ora on a tray: it's just not the same with all that consigned to history.
And of course they'll be an even longer version of The Desolation of Smaug out on shiny silver disc next year! This is part two of a trilogy we're talking about here, remember: all constructed from a relatively slimline children's book.....
