The Fern That Thinks It's A Tree

My new office chair arrived today. Hooray! The gas lift mechanism that raises and lowers the seat had failed on my old one which meant I was sitting too low for the desk and computer screen. No more stiff necks now I'm at the correct height again.

These are wild plants, endemic to Australia. It is a fern (Cyathea cooperi ) but on a huge scale. I can see this one from my home office window.

Here's one of the fern fronds, before it unfurls into a long complex leaf a few metres long. The whole plant grows to 15 metres tall!
