Calm after the Storm
The Storm had subsided this morning and after dropping my son at school I went for a walk along Charmouth beach. The sea was still really angry and very lumpy and with high tide having only been at 7.30am this morning, the car park above the beach was strewn with debris that had been washed up there. Two men were diligently sweeping the driftwood and rocks back down onto the beach.
Even though the sea was still raging, the sun was out and there was a beautiful blue sky. Three surfers were making the most of the conditions and ran into the sea, though I didn't see one of them actually stand up on their board and ride a wave before I left.
Wrapping the last of the presents this evening, with some Christmas music and mulled wine of course!
just remember, the storm doesn't last forever. It can scare you; it can shake you to your core. But it never lasts. The rain subsides, the thunder dies, and the winds calm to a soft whisper. And that moment after the storm clouds pass, when all is silent and still, you find peace. Quiet, gentle peace.
