Knights of the road

Travelling to Kent means using a lot of two lane roads inhabited by lorries in their hundreds. They all seem to believe that they will get to their destination days earlier by pulling out every few yards then crawling past another behemoth for about 2 miles. Thus preventing cars from getting past and long queues behind. Their unpredictable nature make a journey on a lovely sunny day a bit like dicing with death. I do a lot of long distance driving but it seemed particularly bad today.

All the evidence for lane changing shows that it makes precious little difference to the journey time and it build up traffic queues. Maybe lorries should be confined to the inside lane only!

That was a good twine ( Cumbrian for moan).
