Moving house is driving me nuts
We have moved house a few times and never had anything like the trials and tribulations we have had this time. The boundaries, access and change of use to domestic now seem to have been resolved. Phew.
UPDATE
Well we will pick up the keys tomorrow at nine. At least Jane will, I shall be picking up a Luton van. We have legal declarations and insurance policies coming out of our ears (not literally of course).
This evening we have been subject to some wonderful customer service; such a shame that it seems to be the exception rather than the rule. Yesterday we went to Solihull and took a wander round John Lewis with the thought that in the January sale we think about buying a dishwasher and washing machine. We saw a both in their red ticket clearance and they said they would hold them both until today. Today we called and said we had a van from 4.30; the loading bay closed at 4.30. The guy there said he would sort it. We got a call to say if we parked near the store they would get the dishwasher and washing machine to the van. Sure enough two of them walked out with a machine each on a sack trolley. They would not take a tip. Absolutely brilliant from John Lewis staff.
