Urban raptor

No, not a new American thrash metal band, though urban raptor would be a good name for one of those. no, spotted this kestrel perched on a ledge of the bridge at Clapham Junction this morning. I watched in fascination as it ripped apart its meal - couldn't see what the prey was, but small pieces of fur were flying, so I'm guessing mouse or maybe small rat. It stayed there patiently devouring all the while I was waiting for my train, maybe 10 minutes - but alas this was the best and closest I could manage.
