Christmas Cookies through the years

This is the recipe of my Great Aunt Clara Porter, and she was one of my favorite relatives. She and Great Uncle Chester did not have children and so she spoiled me rotten. She loved to bake and always made fabulous fruitcakes and also these pecan roll cookies. I entered them in the best cookies ever contest in the Bradenton Herald in 2000 and they all loved them. Won a great cookbook and had my picture along with the cookies in the paper. A dear friend, laminated the bag with the article on it as a gift for me, so it has been easy to keep track of the details. The close-up of the bag will allow you to see the recipe and make it if you love a good shortbread! This is one of my Christmas traditions that make Christmas special to me!
