After the Storm

The storm during which 70mph gusts had been recorded at the Needles had abated by morning so hoping to see some big waves I went down to the surfers beach at Compton Bay.
Surprisingly the sea was not quite as wild as expected but during the afternoon some heavy squalls passed along the coast producing some impressive shower clouds.
I took many images originally in colour but thought that Mono suited the drama better.

Some good news today. I entered five images into the Isle of Wight Photographer of the Year competition and have had two of them shortlisted. From over 300 entries 30 images have been chosen for the short list and the final judging will take place early next year together with an exhibition at Dimbola Photographic Museum. I'm rather chuffed to say the least as there are some strong contenders amongst the shortlisted entries.
