Scallop At Moonrise
Scallop is a stainless steel structure designed by artist Maggi Hambling as a memorial to Benjamin Britten, who lived much of his life in Aldeburgh, Suffolk. It stands on the beach just north of the town, overlooking the sea. Full moon fell on Tuesday, and moonrise was timed for 4.16pm over the North Sea. As luck would have it, Len and I got to Scallop in time to see it come up over the horizon, before it disappeared again behind thick cloud. A touch of light painting here as well to bring out the detail in Scallop
