Tenerife 3

We tried to go up on the cable car to near the summit of Mt Teide on Tenerife ( Highest mountain in Spain! ) , but it was closed due to the recent storms.
So we decided to go on a walk around the stunning volcanic pillars near the base.
We were above the clouds ( 2500 M ) and the air was clear and thin. Sunny but very windy. Walking was difficult in places over rough volcanic ash and pumice.
We decided to stay and wait until it got dark so that I could get some shots of the stars.
It was so clear and bright, it was another sky entirely.
Quite difficult to pick out the usual stars from a sky now filled with new points of bright light.
We will be back, I have no doubt!
