Advent Crown
I had a long talk to #2 Daughter today. she has had a lot of work to do on the phone to her insurance company and roofers but, the flat been sealed from further water damage after the storms a fortnight ago. She and her partner will now be able to come down to us at the weekend and have Christmas with her sister.
She was concerned that we,too, had had damage to our roof. I reassured her that our builder had arrived at 9am and replaced our broken tiles.
"Mum, please tell me you are getting a tree and decorating the house!" Bless her! She's been too busy/tired to read my blips! "I want to come down and feel like it's Christmas!"
So, our Advent crown is here to help reassure her things are as normal here. Three of the red candles have been lit, one on each of the Sundays in Advent, representing the gospel writers, the greenery; the earth, the red ribbons; the blood of Christ and the white candle in the middle: Christ himself, that candle to be lit on Christmas day.
We will light the last red candle on Sunday.
