Airport lights

I always love going to meet people off a flight into Kirkwall Airport. Especially at this time of year when it's all dark outside add the airport is full of twinkly lights.

Today we were meeting Ruairidh flying home from Uni for the holidays. Lots of other folk were there meeting friends and family and there was a real feeling of excitement... one woman was even dressed as an elf! If I had known fancy dress was de rigueur for airport meet and greets I may have gone for something similar.

Great to have Ru home. He says it feels a bit odd being back as everything is the same and it feels like he's just woken up from a very long dream. Of course he's managed to turn into a southern woos in three months and is going around complaining about the cold so we'll need to toughen him up in the next few weeks.
