A Taste of Spring

This terracotta pot, planted with spring flowers, was given to Mrs Catspaw when she left her old job back in February.

We put it outside for the summer - then in autumn we noticed the primulas were coming back into bud, so we brought it inside to the kitchen windowsill to protect it from the ravages of winter, and to see if any of the buds actually developed.

As you can see, the primulas are now flowering prolifically - a real taste of spring here in the depth of winter. Some of the spring bulbs are also beginning to sprout!
