Lichen and Algae

Rosehaugh Estate

The trees in Rosehaugh are beautiful, dripping in lichens but I hadn't noticed this striking bright yellow alga before. It is growing on the bark of a number of trees along a path we often walk but this tree has the most. I cannot think why I haven't noticed it before.

It was a successful walk today. Continuing on the yellow theme Bud found his lost tennis ball. We had lost it a couple of days ago and he was very pleased with himself when he spotted it near this tree. He is quite good at searching for it and rarely gives up. Poppy doesn't care, she can't eat it so why waste energy looking!
