Eight little slices
A quick little jaunt shooting corners in the afternoon, before the finishing touches to our packing. A bit of Calcutta in every slice, a bit of its oldness too. I?ve often been accused of pointing my camera in the direction opposite to things of "beauty." I guess, this blip proves it. Or does it?
Now, that I'm back, I can't help but feel the contrast even more sharply. A quick flight, less than two hours, and everything is so different. the streets here are so dark, so dim and so silent. Tasteless music plays on the bus from the airport. For me, I'm being the ostrich, my head dug deep in the sand. "Denial", that's the stage I'm at.
My Calcutta trip is backblipped from here. I did take a few more shots in Calcutta and will be uploading them soon.
A couple of quotes from the newspaper which perhaps out of place, have caught my fancy. More as a contrast to the quality of newspapers in Hyderabad:
"Beware of the man who does not return your blow: he neither forgives you nor allows you to forgive yourself."
~ George Bernard Shaw
"Man's capacity for justice makes democracy possible, but man?s inclination to injustice makes democracy necessary."
~ Reinhold Niebuhr (from Children of light and Children of darkness)
