Wild and windy

On the Castle Esplanade filling time till older son went to do his shift at work. Good to be away from the truly tacky tourist tat trading the Council in its lack of wisdom encourages along the length of the High St and elsewhere around the city centre.

I was told a few years ago by the then leader of this august body that they have a duty to the citizens of Edinburgh to maximise the income from Council (our) property. They seem to be unable to remember that they also have other duties (protecting the fabric and World Heritage status of the city among them, also for our benefit). Does anyone else out there feel the city is being sold off to the highest corporate bidder?
