At home: I won!

Now theres a happy ending to the week.

I always enter the 'Farmers Weekly' magazines annual photographic competition. Last year I got a 'runner up', which I was more than happy with. The competition is open to to anyone, although the pictures generally reflect a countryside, farming element.

This year the entries were stronger than ever, so I am chuffed to pieces that I won a category. The winners of each category then go on to be judged against each other for the overall winner in January 2014.

This picture of my hen and her chicks, first seen HERE ON BLIP was perfect for this category. Its unusual these days to be able to observe the protective relationship a mother hen has for its chicks. I was hoping that laying in the pen with her, that I could get the 'chicks point of view'.

Fingers crossed for January 2014....x
