Spotted - Pippa Middleton with Zara Phillips and an unknown friend, taking a break from Christmas shopping, in the Signet Library in Edinburgh's appropriately named Royal Mile.

Pippa, who thrilled the world when she sauntered down the aisle of Westminster Abbey behind her sister at the royal wedding in a tight white Alexander McQueen dress, making her pert bottom world famous, was looking effortlessly stunning in a gun-metal silk two piece suit.

After a light lunch of champagne, the three girls headed down to Holyrood Palace where they are due to spend the night, before leaving tomorrow to join the Queen and Prince Philip for their traditional royal Christmas break at Balmoral.
