Bluetit in a Box
This isn't the sharpest of blips but I'm going with it because it is so typical of the bluetit behaviour in the elder tree. They discovered the hole in the lid of the squirrel feeder several years ago and are adept at flying in, getting a nut and out again in a flash. They must pass it on through the generations. The great tits take much longer about it and the coal tit today was totally confused about what to do and how to do it. He watched the others going in and out but only ever got as far as sitting on the edge of the box.
In other parts of Saturday, big thankyou to Yearofhappy for inviting us along to the Bradford Parkrun. We came across several orienteering pals and some village/work pals too, and it was great fun. We will be back!
