Four Variations on a Post

(sorry about the pun)

This afternoon I managed a quick foray into some woods between a housing estate and farmland.
There, I found an old rotting fence post with moss on it (top-left).

I duplicated it, reversed one, then butted them together (top-right).

The two on the bottom are polar-coordinate distortions of the top-right image.
