Bumps in the Road

What a difference a day makes

In anticipation of our impending Australia adventure, last night we drove down to Lincoln to spend a few days with Grandma before heading back up to Scotland for the big departure.

Because I had to work on Friday unfortunately we were fairly late setting off from Edinburgh. This meant we arrived even later down in Lincoln so in an effort to give the wee man a decent night's sleep we attempted the stealthy switcheroo between car seat and travel cot. It didn't work. However, the wee man was in fantastic spirits, giving hi-fives on demand and and shouting the word 'clock' as he pointed them out.

Unfortunately the good spirits didn't last. The wee man had a very unsettled night and woke with a fever of 39.2 this morning. He was a complete shadow of himself last night, preferring to cuddle into Mummy's chest and hide away from the world.

A couple of doses of Calpol and Ibruprofen later, things turned around again. The fever was gone and the boy was in good spirits again. How bizarre?

He took another little dip at bedtime but we're hoping he'll wake up on the right side of bed, footloose and feverless.

Wish us luck!
