Decorating for the Cats

This is a combination of a cats' Christmas tree and a longed for present. The fragile ornaments now hanging along the skirt/pants/coat hanger had been up on a pedestal hanging on a large, forbidden (to cats due to poison) cactus. No challenge is too great for Gracie T-t. Somehow she got her full grown self wrapped around the pot on the pedestal. Then she began batting these my favorite ornaments which I thought were safe from her ministrations. So, off they came and down she jumped. I took them off before they were too cracked.
This strange creation hangs in the bathroom high enough (so far) to resist further cat play.
The bouquet of organic catnip arrived in the fall from their cat sitter. It has dried beautifully and only waits to be mauled on Christmas Day.
We are NOT having an indoor tree this year. While sewing down in the basement today I decided to bring up the old, pathetic 4 ft. artificial tree with lights attached and plug it in outdoors tomorrow. We are enjoying a warming spell with steady rainfall. Deep fog tonight and then it could go up to 50ºF (@ 10ºC) tomorrow. Lots of melting and some flooding so far. that's quite a change from last week when it a 2F.
