Studland: Knoll Beach

National Trust shop and tea rooms on Studland's northernmost beach.

The NT owns a lot of land in Purbeck, including this beach. Parking in NT car parks is not cheap, but membership of the NT gives you free parking, and for some locals this fact is sufficient justification for joining. (Exceptionally, this beach's car park is unmanned outside the tourist season.)

A beautiful sandy beach, beloved of our many tourists, and along which you can walk northwards as far as the Sandbanks ferry. In the background of today's photo you can see the skyline of Bournemouth.
