Prize ceremony

A festive evening in Groningen tonight! I got nominated for the Van Swinderen prize, awarded by the Royal Dutch Physics Society (Koninklijk Natuurkunding Genootschap).

On the picture all four nominees, after we presented our work in 15 minute presentations. The graph on the background is shows the result of the audience voting, albeit not in the right order, since the left bar shows the votes I received: I won the audience prize! Can't believe it!

The jury prize went to the person on the left, all three remaining candidates received a second prize. I'm really happy and proud of this result, it made a perfect early Christmas gift (mostly the honours, alhtough the 1100 euro I got awarded are welcome too!)
