Beach Bar Breakfast
During the December (summer) holidays the beach bar at Featherbed Bay is open every day. It is only accessible by boat and this morning friends invited us to join them for brunch.
It was a stunning day, warm with a gentle breeze and the breakfast was excellent.
Another lousy day in paradise :)
Featherbed bay got its name from the days of sail when Knysna was a busy timber port. It often happened that sailing ships had to stand out to sea during rough seas because the Heads are notorious for wrecks. On crossing the bar they would often anchor in the area of the jetty, which by comparison to the sea outside the Heads was a "featherbed".
