A brighter shade of red

Spent a good part of the day reading up about the Scottish countryside - and then on the way home I got an eyeful of it in some rather nice light. Stopped to take a picture of the corduroy stripes in the fields and these red beauties seemed to be glowing.

Incidentally, I always thought the word "corduroy" was from the French corde du roi. Is it 'eck as like, apparently.
