OUTBACK AUSTRALIA..... Back When...#14
...... have known Wendy (the boss) now for a mere 45 years, and the first Christmas I was informed of her family tradition with the traditional pudding each Christmas.
What I later learnt was the recipe (as shown here) and tradition has been handed down from "back when"!
So for a special Christmas treat, thought I should give you at least a "cyber" taste! The fruit you can see there with the other needs has been soaking now for five weeks.... yumm. My job is to tie up the cloth nice an firm so when it is cooking for four or so hours water will not get in. We then hang it till the 25th, and then cook again prior enjoyment.
As you know it is Baby sit day Mondays with Alice, so we have been busy this morning initiating Alice for the second year with the tradition of how it all happens. The end result in the pic there is last years.
AND... we still have some old coins (threepence's and sixpence's) which go in for the fun of finding when enjoying on the big days feast.
Thank you for all the wonderful stars hearts and comments to yesterdays Sunrise, I had not realised it was also the longest day, so after having taken the shortest days sunrise on 21st June, why not complete yesterdays scenario with a sunset!
Yesterday therefore ended up a very long day as sunrise here is 5:40am and sunset yesterday was 8:06pm!
Enjoy, and you may want a LARGE LARGE look to check the recipe.
