Florida for Christmas?

Wonderful weather, just a slight breeze and temperature around 10°C, the warmest I think since 25th November. Walked over to check out MrB's bees and were greeted 25 meters before we got there by loud buzzing and masses of bees flying about. Blip on the Bee journal.

As we climbed over the fence on to the horse fields, the postman arrived bringing the annual and long awaited Christmas card & annual news from an ex boss Tino and his family who live in Jacksonville, Florida (US's largest city - work that out). They are sweating today at about 26°C BUT tomorrow the temperature is due to drop big time. Don't think they will have snow though. Tino, an American, and one of his three children are Munich born, his wife is German so it wouldn't be hard for them to cope. Tino is at home anywhere in the the world and will find you the best pasta in Sienna, chinese in San Francisco, curry in Solihull or sushi in Sapporo and I have often benefited from his culinary knowledge. It's always a special day getting their card and also a moment for me to reflect how bad I am at keeping up with contacts. Too late to do anything about this Christmas but something for the New Year resolutions list (as if it wasn't long enough already). Tino writes he will be in Munich area soon so maybe we can meet up for a Weißwurst or so.

So greetings to Tino & family in Jacksonville and Walter (US of Italian descent) too, another ex colleague and someone who doesn't have any deficits in the contact maintenance area or the inside of restaurants. Also to David in Vienna, another ex boss (Manchester born) who also knows the odd place to have a good meal - the last Tweet I saw from him many months ago was from a New York restaurant enjoying Tuna sashimi. Bet they will be having something better than my Christmas Eve bangers & mash on Christmas Day.
