Another grey, appallingly wet day and with worse to come according to the forecast. It will be difficult for those relying on ferries to get home tomorrow - I hope most have already made the journey, as Cailean did yesterday.

The weather makes one understand at least one role of Christmas lights in northern climes - to brighten the depth of a dark season as these did on our tree this afternoon .
