Christmas contrasts

I thought I would take a photo of the pouring rain with part of my Christmas painting (still not completed!) in the foreground. An idyllic snowy scene with yucky rain and wind in the background. Mind you, snow can be far from idyllic too I guess!

Tonight sounds like it's going to be terrible along this south coast - well it is already really wild. Possible 80 mph winds and torrential rain until the early hours of the morning. The rain and wind continues, at a less fierce level, after that too. Christmas Day and Boxing Day will be better, then we've got another huge storm coming in on Friday. So sorry for anyone living near a river, or who has lost power - thousands have apparently. We have overhead power lines here, so hoping and praying that they will be okay....
