Storm
In this shot I tried to capture the wind and the rain. It arrived in the early hours of this morning and after a slight easing at about teatime, has now picked up again and is blowing as strongly as ever. The branches of the laurel outside our front room were lashing about in the wind and the same wind was driving the rain into the window.
Judging by the traffic reports, most of Devon is almost underwater and several local roads are closed due to flooding. My son reported the river between us and Plymouth to be only about a foot below the top of the bank - normally it's a good eight to ten feet below and I've only ever seen it come over the road once in the twenty five years we've been living here. This could be the second time judging by the sounds coming from outside.
Hope you're all surviving this weather and are safely tucked up at home, or have arrived at wherever you intend spending Christmas.
