A Very Merry Matlock

Hall Leys Park in Matlock looking invitingly festive this evening. The whole of the park has been painted with lights, from the ground up to the tips of the trees.
They seem to have employed special extra sparkly bulbs this year.

As tranquil and timeless as this scene seems to be, not thirty metres from this scene the River Derwent is a turged torrent, raging under the bridge; contained, for now, within it's banks.
