Wise men come to Swindon

Yes, the nativity was played out in the Brunel shopping centre today in the middle of Swindon, with Wise Men, Mary, Joseph and a young baby, while outside two real live camels in all their regalia were being tended by their keeper.

The drama was put on by the Bible Society, who have their headquarters in Swindon, with performances on the hour from 11am to 4pm. On the half hours there was a rapping, beatbox vicar telling the nativity story in his own unique way.

It was great amidst all the commercialism to see the true meaning of Christmas being shared in a dramatic way.
