Sylvia Pankhurst had this monument erected, and the poor thing is about forgotten, although, it has got a new fence around it. But the inscription is almost gone.

It's an anti-war statement, the Abyssinian War of the 1930s in particular, but also of air warfare in general. This, before the Blitz and the firestorms.

It seems such an exercise in futility, but there it stands. Right at the end of my street.

To the supermarket today where all was chaotic and pandemonium, but as I have no responsibilities this Christmas I just stood back and laughed, and quite enjoyed the madness. A big storm all day, as added bonus, but not going anywhere, no need to worry.
