Mangrove swamps come to Oxfordshire ...

Or is it Wiltshire - this is right on the boundary.
After last nights horrific winds and lashing rain (which has brought our fence down in the garden) it is a glorious day. But the aftermath left flooded roads. The road here was not flooded, but the fields had become like mangrove swamps!

I took this shot as we drove past (I wasn't driving), and it wasn't until I got home and loaded the pictures onto my laptop that I noticed the big bird on the fence post. Anyone know what it is?
