Here's to 21st December, 1983...
backblip
After a great night's sleep followed by a bacon roll at Ele's, it was off home again. Thankfully my journey coincided with a break in the weather. The wind and rain all but disappeared thank goodness. It returned with a vengeance once I was home.
Returned to the news that the electrical sockets in our living room are still not working despite David replacing fuses, bits on the circuit board and other electrical fixes (can you tell I don't really know anything about electricity?!) We're covered by our Gas Service Plan so an electrician is coming out on Christmas Eve.
If he can't fix it, it means we will have no lamps, no tree lights and no telly in the lounge. :(( I know this is totally trivial compared to the flooding and loss of power being suffered in large areas of the country, but I can't help but feel a little sad as this being our first ever Christmas with just the three of us, I was REALLY looking forward to it and wanted it to be perfect. Fingers crossed it's fixable.
In other news, it was 30 years ago today that David asked me out for the very firs time (at the end of the 6th year School Christmas dance :)) Tonight he made dinner and when he called me through, this was the sight that greeted me.
He'd gone to so much effort, which is even more appreciated considering he had no clue that this was the anniversary of that momentous event (well he's a man isn't he and men are clueless when it comes to date of things! :) and had gone to all this trouble just because.
Thank you D. You are a very special man and I love you. Here's to the next 30 years! :-))) xxxx
