How can we measure?

Well not like that!

Comparing shoe sizes at nursery today (early maths).
The children were shown a basket of multi link cubes and asked, how can we measure our shoes with these?

Eyes lit up.....'like this'....as they proceeded to fill their shoes to the brim. Wasn't what we had in mind, but did they have fun?
Well I suppose you could say they were measuring the volume of a shoe!!!
You'll see bottom left of pic that someone was thinking along the right lines :0)
