Manger scene

So that is the manger scene as dispalyed in my parents' house. The alert observer might notice a few deviations from the passed on biblical story. We have the luxury of not only 3 but 4 Wise Men (Die 4 Weisen aus dem Morgenland). Our live stock features your usual players like sheep, a donkey and camels, but the ox in the scene was exchanged for a cow for gender equality reasons. I also strongly suspect the displayed Joseph to be a run-of-the-mill shepherd, who got an impromptu promotion. But then again, what difference does it make for good old Joe: he wasn't the boy's biological father anyway.
