Under the Night Lights
Bird of Paradise always reminds me of Grammie Teele. She used to marvel at their beauty, and I never told her but I thought they looked pointy, harsh, and mean. As an adult, I see them now and their spectacular color captures my attention, and I immediately remember Grammie and the way she oohed and awed while looking at these flowers.
This evening we made a quick trip to Jamba Juice for the daily dose of wheatgrass and I saw this flower through the window and it begged me to come closer to look and to capture its beauty with my cheapie camera. The night lights changed its natural color completely, but I still thought it was beautiful.

On another note, my Thursday students took Quiz 1 today. I am amazed at the ones who just don't study and choose to fail. I was also thrilled at the ones who aced the quiz. It is so fun to watch them earn high scores and top grades.

I'm still fighting a sinus cold. I don't think it has won yet. I'll continue to take lots of vitamins, minerals, and wheatgrass. I agree with many of you that rest and sleep are the best medicine. I know the hot days and chilly nights are not helpful.
Good night from Southern California.

P.S. Mr. Fun visited the "weight" counselor today. He's lost more inches and more pounds. This is very encouraging news.
