All cleared up

The convenience of using a dishwasher means that we seldom get out our "best" china these days, as it isn't dishwasher proof (the carefully hand-applied decoration tends to wash off!). However, Christmas is one of those special occasions, and it is lovely to see the table laid out in all its glory.

So, after the meal is eaten, the crockery is washed up carefully by hand and then dried and put away. Now that's done, we can fall asleep in front of the television with the remains of the wine.
