St Paul's, Southville
Waking on Boxing Day with a somewhat fuzzy head, took Floss for an early walk in the brilliant morning sunshine -- cold clear blue skies with the sun sat low and burning bright.
This church is about 10 minutes walk from my house. Architecturally it's nothing special -- the 1820s original was totally gutted by an enemy bombing raid on Good Friday 1941, and this is a post-war rebuild. The exterior is much as it was when first constructed; the 1950's interior re-fit leaves a lot to be desired.
But I liked the morning light playing on the wall, and the deep blue sky, and the disconcerting effect of vertical perspective-correction.
