A Plumbers Wife!

Yum yum

Having hit exhaustion point again at about 3pm, and after being poked and prodded at the doctors, and prescribed 2 different sets of antibiotics (more of that later!) I decided that we were going to have an Indian meal this evening from The Spice Lounge. We have a takeaway from here every few weeks, and 2 or 3 times a year we go there to eat in (usually when we have a "James free evening" as he is not reknowned for his ability to sit still and enjoy a quiet relaxing meal!). It is a fabulous restaurant, everything about it I just love - the restaurant itself (if you click on the link you'll see) if beautifully decorated. The team there are attentive - service is always great - and they are always happy to chat about the food, the ingredients etc etc. The prices are very reasonable and when you get a takeaway, you get a discount as well. But most importantly, the food is glorious - good portions, cooked fresh, fresh herbs and spices, good quality meat - and it makes a difference.

When I went to pick up our meal, I took them a copy of the photo that is on the link above - I took it back in March and it has been sat on my desk waiting to take to them ever since. I had a lovely 10 minutes with lots of the staff mooching over to have a look and then had a lovely chat with one of the fellas who also has an interest in photography. It was really quite fun - and I guess a reflection on why we love the place so much - that everyone there is genuine, friendly, interesting and they SMILE a lot.

If you read this, we do think you're wonderful and we do frequently recommend you to anyone we get a chance to!!!

So tonight I had a Murgh Manchoori, which is hot - too hot for Corin and James which means I get to eat most of it myself (although Corin did have some of it tonight). James and Corin shared a Bhuna, along with poppadoms (fresh and lovely), Naan, lots of chutneys and sauces.

I am now officially stuffed to the gills. And sleepy.

My suspicions yesterday were right - I do have an infection following the procedure I had last week, which probably explains why I have felt so utterly lousy for the last week or so. So now I have two lots of horse pills to take, which both have a long list of side effects, some of which the Doctor assures me I WILL experience - particularly nausea and dizzy spells. So I am staying home this weekend. Probably sleeping a lot.

In other news - my mum has had an interesting day - she hasn't blipped yet, but I am sure she will later - I won't steal her thunder, but just to say that I strongly hope that Karma is a phenomenon that does exist, because there are one or two people who seriously deserve to have a little of "what goes around comes around" and those people should be thoroughly ashamed of themselves - I suspect that a cold shoulder is going to be a long term prospect for at least 2 English members of the community. And I suspect also that the people who voted against mum today will realise the error they made in very short order. Make the most of your free time mum - enjoy it as you have run yourself into the ground for those people in the last two years - now they can reap what they have sown today - and you can sit back with a glass of vino tinto and watch the chaos that is likely to occur...and smile quietly to yourself.
