Italy Day 4: Pompeii

Day four of the Italian portion of the trip features Pompeii, which was the real reason for heading towards Naples, and something I was very much looking forward to.

The BBC's Pompeii: The Last Day tells the story well, and seeing the ruins in person did not disappoint. There's something amazing about walking along the same streets as the Romans once did.

My third thunderstorm hit while I was in the remains of the theatre, where I sheltered for a while, though the sudden rain also provided a demonstration of the streets' drainage systems!
