Don't Look if You are Squamish!
I had my plaster taken off this morning and saw my hand for the first time. I took some shots before it was washed but it looked too gruesome so used this shot instead after it had been washed. I think the nurse thought I was nuts wanting to take a photo of my hand!
They only took out 12 stitcher as my hand hadn't healed that well. She said it didn't look infected at this stage but to keep a close eye on it. I go on Monday to get the other 38 stitcher's out if all is OK.
After the plastic clinic I had to go the physiotherapy clinic to have my splint made and be shown some exercisers to keep the fingers straight and moving again. I have to keep the splint on all the time and just remove it to do my exercisers every two hours. That is because last time I had aggressive scar tissue.
I was remembered from last time when I was there in Feb 2011 and have the same physiotherapy. Also I have to be very careful not to get it wet or dirty!
Just in case you are not sure what I had done to my hands it was a operation for Dupuytren's contracture.
Thankyou all for your best wishes and support.
